To sum up:

Intel® Pentium® D Processors 920, 930, 940 and 950 will undergo the following changes for the B-1 to C-1 processor stepping conversion:
• CPUID will change from F62 to F64
• C-1 is pin compatible with B-1
• New S-specs for converting products
The advanced power management features Enhanced HALT State and Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology will be enabled
The Pentium D Processor 940 change from the 2005 Performance FMB (130W) to the 2005 Mainstream FMB (95W)

930:
B1 - SL94R
C1 - SL95X

940
B1 - SL94Q
C1 - SL95W

950
B1 - SL94P
C1 - SL95V

Yeah, I guess two more weeks.

Some more stuff:

920 will stay on B1 'til EOL, which is ~April 23rd.

960 (3.6ghz) will be introduced ~April 23rd (C1 - SL95U)

On Aprl 23rd in addition to the traditional price slide (930 becomes price of old 920, 940 becomes price of 930, etc...) there will be price cuts resulting with (in 1k trays):
930 - $209
940 - $241
950 - $316
960 - $530

Current intel price list can be found here for comparison: http://www.intel.com/intel/finance/pricelist/

So if you're looking at a 9XX you might want to wait a month...

where is the 920 pricing? i thought that was going down to 208?

EOL - end of life. I'm told that the 930 takes the 920s place on the price ladder.

haha, that guy that just bought my 920 is going to be one ****ed off cookie...

Hopefully Lock free will be enabled. With the 35watt drop it should OC even higher.

Whew, I hate think...Ross already set a CPUZ record of 5.6GHz. Just think what these C1 steppinjg models are gonna do. If the lock free is enabled look out current record holders. heh

Lock Free should work because it uses EIST. EIST was missing on B1, but will be supported on C1.

They only measure average power (heat), so most if not all the savings may in fact be comming from the use of EIST and HALT.
