Why don't people use alcohol instead of antifreeze?

fwiw rubbing alcohol does destroy acrylic... i tried cleaning the inside of my res with it, now it s full of tiny hairline cracks all over the res.

It only does that to flame-polished acrylic, fwiw.

well then my entire res is flame polished and that would lead me to imagine that many are. its an xspc dual 5.25 bay res.

There are some reses that aren't...I think the swifty microres is one that has minimal flame polishing. Anything curved is flame polished anywhere there's a curve. Also, a lot of manufacturers do acrylic joints with flame, so that'll do it too.

More than anything I posted it as an it of interest...because it interests me.
