I don't know why you'd go with an Athlon 4200+, the slowest Core 2, the E6300, is faster than it. It is about $50 more on newegg and $30 more on tigerdirect (amazingly, tigerdirect is charging less than newegg)
However, it is your money and therefore your choice.

I like the setup you have picked out, doesnt look like anythings wrong .. ( I would have gone with ocz for the memory, but thats me!)

also, i would have gone with a different brand of psu (like enermax or similar) because i've never heard of hiper... but it got decent reviews... all in all a good looking build to me.

I like the "APC" branded ones , for that rig, at least a 500Va or higher, preferrably a 725va or 750va!

I too would go with a better ps... enermax eg495P-ve or liberty 400W or ocz powerstream or something....

APC is supposedly good with ups...I got their 1200VA model... :)

If you're not going to overclock - get the arctic cooling freezeer64 pro instead to save some money.... otherwise a xp90/xp120/si120 would be a better bet than the zalman 9500 - had it and sold it after 3 days...have used xp90/xp90c and xp120 - all better than the zalman and quieter with the right fan and can also help cool off nearby chipsets. The zalman is only quiet on lowest speed by the way.....

If you want to build cheap everything looks ok - if you got more money the intel E6400/6600 would be a better way to go....

this is a 6-bit panel just so you know so image quality wont be top notch due to dithering. Otherwise this is a good deal. If you want a widescreen 8-bit you will have to step up to 20.1" monitors that cost about 80+ bucks more.

After thinking for a while I think I'm going with this :)

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3

Zalman CNPS9500

OCZ PowerStream 600W

Western Digital 250GB 16MB

Is it better now?

Not sure on the UPS yet, I do have one but it's 3+ years old, and I can't even find the va, it is an APC, it says Back-UPS ES

go with APC for your UPS battery, we use them to support our file servers at all the health clubs i help manage (in an IT capacity of course) they are well made and very reliable.

evolution, goto www.svc.com or www.bestbyte.net those are the 2 best places to buy things like fans, heatsinks, accessories, power cables...little things.

I'd get the seagate 7200.10 if I were you, it's the fastest 7200rpm drive on the market
