Just got a seagate 320 pr drive, was working fine for a week or two. Turned on the rig today and the computer thinks it's unformatted :(

Running recovery software on it later, just wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Been there before...ran recovery software and got it all back no problem

Wow, quick reply :D

I've had this issue on other drives but usually because they were abused (cooked in heat, rattled etc..) but never just spontaneously on new drives. What drive was yours that died?

I wouldn't say it died...Just like you I rebooted one day and found it "unformatted".

I don't remember what drive it was...might have been my SATA Maxtor 160gb - since it was my main storage at the time. But it was just fine after I got my data off and did a clean format (I did a full to be safe)
