My Dad's PC went haywire, and refused to boot from the master drive. Eventually he decided to boot from the slave drive and install XP there.

The master drive with the old XP installation on it is mounted in windows. The files are browsable, however, files from my dad's user (admin) give a permission denied error. Cannot even open the folder Documents and Settings. Other users can access their files fine.

How can I get access to my Dad's files so that I can back them up for him, and reinstall the entire system? Most of the stuff he has on the drive is not backed up, and he really doesn't want to lose it.

Thanks!

That's enabled me to get access to all the files I want to backup.
