Tried asking in the amd-asus mobo section, but no responses... so here goes:
Sempron 3300+, Asus K8V-X SE mobo. While testing this combo caseless I noticed something: No matter what I set the memory to in bios, upon next boot the timings would always be 2.5-7-7-15 (or something like that, it was a few days ago. maybe it was 2.5-6-6-15.)
I could run memtest and used the advanced controls to manually change timings on the fly, for example to 2-3-3-6, and I'd see the reported bandwidth jump accordingly, however, like I said - no matter what I set the mem timings to in bios, upon saving and rebooting they're 2.5-7-7-15.
I'd really like some help with this because I'd really like to swap this chip/mobo into my main rig today or tomorrow, replacing my 2.4c. (and hand-me-down gifting the 2.4c to my bsd server.)
