Speakers fading in and out

I put a thread before but i lost what it was.

Note: SB Aud card and creative 5.1 system

Here is the quick: I had a computer (RIP good friend) and the sound, with out turning the vol up or down, would become very soft then go back to very loud. It is very odd and i do not like when it happens. People wrote back the last time about seeing if it was my speakers or what

TODAY: I am now using the speakers on a different computer and it is doing the same thing. so i feel it is NOT the card nor is it the computer.

Anyone have anything for this? I would like some help.

PS...any more info needed?

I would say a loose connection somewhere, or it could be that there is something a lil messed up in them.

it IS the speakers...i have the same set... the potentiometer used for volume control sucks, when the volume gets low push downward on the volume knob and it should go back up
