Been a while figure I'd post a new work result for speed and just a recap over the years for me. Amazing how times have changed. I know at least Company #1 there is a wall I'm dealing with on my side (not connection side)

4-10-07 (Company #1) ............................ 9-16-15 (Company #1) ............................ 1-26-17 (Company #1)

1-12-10 (Company #2) ............................ 1-12-10 (Company #2)

And from home
1-15-10 .................................................. 2-5-11 .................................................. 4-17-12

Think i right slightly faster than that now but not by much... same basic connection from almost 5 years ago.

Edit: Updated my latest run at home finally... really yeah not much better than 5 years ago. Pretty sad considering how seems like most places getting at least 100meg down or more. Though thankful for other places that don't get anywhere near this :)

It hurts when I see this thread :c not only the connections are terrible in my country biut everything is forbidden (youtube/reddit/quora, evrything needs a vpn which makes thing really really slow)
my brother recently got this connection, It's never free (3$ per GB, My current 1mbps internet connection has around 15-30gb of free data from 3-7am).
I get 160ms in overwatch if I'm really really lucky, which is amazing (despite the spikes :( ) but mostly it's a super laggy 200-300ms connection.
I usually play this game when I get the chance! (it's mostly good at 3-4am)

oh and it's a lie xD the test connected to my ISP's server in my country. it's usually 1.5mb/s download (which is actually correct) but the upload isn't that good at all. and the latency is much much higher.

but it feels SO FREAKING fast for me :D I've literally never used a fast connection before, this is my first connection over 1 mbps!! I just can't believe how fast the 4GB Update on my overwatch finished! but the update costed more than the game itself xD (not literally just kidding, it costed me 12$ if I remember correctly)

Behind a VPN. Actually faster then without the VPN service.

Installed Private Internet Access VPN the other day. Upped the encryption from sha/rsa 126 to 256 and set to USMidwest with speedtest:
86ms ping; 78.77Mbps down; 11.05Mbps up
Fast.com 88Mbps

Set to Auto Connect in PIA:
24ms ping; 101.36Mbps down; 11.20Mbps up
Fast.com 88Mbps

Guess I'll stick with auto.

First one is my wireless 4G connection, second is the new fibre connection that just got hooked up last week. Should be 100/40.

Probably gonna tell them to refund me if they can't sort it out real quick.

Was that run on ur phone or wirelessly??? What's your hardline results?? Most isp don't guarantee wireless speeds and I've seen identical phones do different results when speed testing via wireless connections

Both were connected via ethernet to a desktop pc. About 10% of the time it is actually decent & I get up to 80 mbps, the rest of the time it's like that.

ok ya said 4G so that had me confused a tad cause 4G is cellular not wifi

Yeah, there is a company here that provides unlimited 4G for the home, I connect to that network via a modem/router they make. The speeds are slow, but as advertised & sometimes faster.

Its the HFC connection that I have an issue with. Trying to download on steam yesterday was maxing out at ~300KB/s. Earlier in the week I got up to 9-10MB/s. The inconsistency is crazy.
