Trouble with wlan-ng and Gentoo 2006.1

I am having trouble with wlan-ng and Gentoo 2006.1. I emerged linux-wlan-ng for my Syntax USB-400 wifi adapter and it compiled with no errors. For whatever reason I cant get the thing to work. I modprobed prism2_usb and it says the module was not found. When I try lsusb I can see the device is plugged in. I have no idea what to try next. I have spent hours on this. I have had very good success with wireless in linux up until now.

I finally figured out I had to build a new kernel just to get the drive r working.
