    Question on a Modular psu??

    I know this sound like a nub question but can you take out a cable that not in use.
    My rig:
    Cpu: Intel Core i7-920 @ 2.9Ghz
    Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II GENE X58 Micro ATX
    Graphics: XFX Radeon HD 5770 XTreme Edition 1GB
    Hard drive:Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB
    Memory: G.SKILL PI Series 6GB DDR3 1700 8-8-8-25
    cpu cooler: Water XSPC X2O 750 Bay Reservoir Pump,
    Black Ice GT Stealth 240 Radiator,
    Swiftech Apogee GTZ i7 CPU Waterblock 1/2ID

    Power supply: Thermaltake W0116RU 750W
    Case: LIAN LI PC-V351

    Yes. That's the idea of a modular PSU. You only attach what your using.

    except for the p+ or any cable that would attach to the mobo, those are usualy hardwired on

    Some modular psu come with all of the cables removable. Other modular come with 24pin, 8pin, 4pin attached to psu while the rest can be removed.

    ME too, In my Antec the lower chamber is a little too small for all the cables.
