its probably not a big deal, but why dont my hd defrag all into one block? it just annoys me that there is a big gap there!Mobile Athlon XP 2600+

Your data should go all into one spot... On a Windows partition its is due to certain immovable files (like pagefile and hiberfil)
Although... do a good defraggging and then take an image of your harddrive then format and reimage it and everything will be jammed right atthe beginningAll rants I produce are sole property of 127.0.0.1.

Have you tried moving any pagefiles etc onto a different drive? I dont see it as a problem personally as long as its not red and blue striped.
