I have a question about DD-WRT micro. I just flashed it to my WRT54G. Now while setting up my wireless there are 4 or 5 different WPA settings, wich one is the best?

WPA2 is better.

I'm not sure about DD-WRT but you'll probably be presented with options for a pre-shared key (PSK) or something about using Radius. Often called Personal and Enterprise. You probably want PSK (Personal), unless you're running a Radius server.

Then you want AES (Advanced Encryption System)

Then you'll probably have the choice of using TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) or CCMP (Counter-Mode/CBC-MAC Protocol) for passkey management. CCMP is sometimes just called native AES. CCMP is better, but if your wireless acess cards are old, they might not support it. TKIP offers better backwards compatibility.

There is a Windows patch for WPA2/AES. Two actually.

Right now I have it set to WPA2-Shared key only.
Ill take a look at those links when I get some time, thanks for your response.

what version of encryption is the best? i currently use WEP, is there any performance reasons to switch to a different form of encryption

WEP can be successfully cracked in under 3 minutes by anyone with a remote idea of what they're doing. It's only better than nothing, so if there are other options it would be a good idea to switch.
