    OC newbie needs advice

Any pointers for me? My first attempt at overclocking my 3700+ San Diego seems rather unimpressive:

    model number: ADA3700DAA5BN
    core description: E4?
    CPU frequency: 2420 MHz (220 x 11)
    CPU voltage: 1.36V
    temperature (system idle/load, CPU idle/load): system unavail C, CPU 32/42 C
    cooling: Thermalright SI-120, 120mm Panaflo M1A
motherboard: DFI LanParty nF4 Ultra rev. a3
    memory: OCZ Platinum EL Rev. 2 PC3200 512 MB x 2
    memory bus frequency: 220 MHz
    memory timing: 2-2-2-5 1T
    memory voltage: 2.69 V
    HT frequency: HTT x 5 <- (Usually between 3x - 5x)
power supply: OCZ Powerstream 520 W
    Processor - AMD 64 3700+ San Diego
    Memory - OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 1GB (2 x 512MB)
Video Card - EVGA 7800GT PCIe.
Motherboard - DFI LanParty nF4 Ultra

You mayhave to run the memory on the 183 divider, you are right at the edge of the 3200ELs limit at 220. I can only see 215-217 stable with my XTCs. Don't hesitate to try relaxing the timing a little they may reach higher speeds at 2.5-3-3-7 (speed trumps latency in real world gaming and folding (benches do better with latancies).

Alrighty, finally got around to trying it again. This time the numbers look nicer. I adjusted my RAM timing to 2.5-3-3-7 as you suggested and turned up the voltage on my CPU. Results?:

    model number: ADA3700DAA5BN
    core description: E4?
    CPU frequency: 2782.5 MHz (265 x 10.5)
    CPU voltage: 1.51V
    temperature (system idle/load, CPU idle/load): system unavail C, CPU 48/52 C
    cooling: Thermalright SI-120, 120mm Panaflo M1A
motherboard: DFI LanParty nF4 Ultra rev. a3
    memory: OCZ Platinum EL Rev. 2 PC3200 512 MB x 2
    memory bus frequency: 265 MHz
    memory timing: 2.5-3-3-7c
    memory voltage: 2.58 V
    HT frequency: HTT x 4
power supply: OCZ Powerstream 520 W

I haven't stress-tested it yet, so these numbers may change. What do you think for now? RAM doesn't seem to be a limiting factor right now. Should I try to push the CPU any further? Is heat the only limit I should consider when increasing voltage?

Saweet That's about where my Sandy 3700 went. They are good clocker, I just wish it has 2 cores. Others here may no more about your ram sticks but getting 2.5-3-3-7 at 265 in my book is super!

Sooo... I've been playing around with things a bit more

    Currently running at:
    CPU: 2906Mhz (262x11)
    CPU Voltage: 1.55V
    Temp: Idle 48C, Load, 54C
    RAM: 262mhz
    Timing: 2.5-3-3-7
    Voltage: 2.82V
    HTT: x3

Still haven't reached a stable point quite yet; I'd liiike to break 3ghz but I just don't think its going to happen
