x1950xt 256 vs 512

How significant is the upgrade from 256 or 512? The price disparity is pretty large, best I can figure its the difference between $180-$200 and $230-$260

The RAM difference applies when you are using high resolutions when playing games.

In your estimation is the extra expense warranted? I am not consistently playing the latest graphically intensive games (Mainly WoW and EvE), but do not want to be limited by graphical performance within the next year or two at least. (I do not plan on upgrading to vista and thus have no interest in dx10.)

to the OP, be cautious when buying the 512MB edition of this card

many ship with slower ram speeds than the 256MB version (1600Mhz vs 1800Mhz)

I can play Oblivion at 1920x1200 with HDR.
Was also afraid of having too little mem, but until now it seems 256MB are enough.
