May want to read that Fudge just so you don't get screwed. I am not sure when that player was made but better safe then sorry. Currently the PS3 does not even support all the features but technically has the hardware to support them so a Firmware update is expected later to add the support on the software side.
You are right, I missed the little blue box. Still they are Samsungs which should be better quality than Sonys. I've also heard by word of mouth that if you want a BluRay player, you should NOT use the PS3 to play all of your BluRay movies, because apparently the laser has to move on a track and refocus for BluRay Movies vs PS2 DVD discs and PS3 BluRay games. This will lead to premature failure of the tracking unit or laser as it did with the PS1 and PS2.
A refurbed Samsung at $130 less, MAY be better than a new PS3.
Tenchi, what is the big deal with the PIP? I've never noticed any of HD-DVD discs make use of it where it says that ALL HD-DVD drives support it.
