stupid to get free ecs mobo w/ e6600 & wait for best oc mobo to be decided?

there is a sale at fry's right now for a e6600 and ecs mobo for $229.99+ tax

with the mobo supremacy for c2d undecided and intel about to release a 965 chip set killer in june, would it be stupid to just use the free ecs mobo for a few months while the top dog mobo is decided?

    thanks
