Hi all!

My brother has just taken a year stint in Austria and took his PC with him. The problem is that he had Win98 on the machine and had it set to DVD region 2 (South Africa). He took all his region 2 dvd's with and obviously purchased a few newer titles in Austria. He upgraded to Win2000 recently and now he can't change his region code from 2->5 and back. This article shows how to manually change it but does anyone know if there is an easier way to do it? DVD Genie (from the same link) can do it for 9x but not 2k. Any suggestions??

Thanks

you can change the region of DVD in the device manager

browse to dvd/cd-rom, and go to property of his dvd

it should have the option to allow you to change. All DVD allows you to change the region not more than 4 times.

if he USED all the chances of changing, he has to return his DVD to the manufacture and get the new one.
