    Problems falling asleep?

Strange, recently I've had problems getting to sleep, sometimes it takes me an hour or two before I am able to sleep. I don't know if it is stress related, but I'll just lay there thinking constantly....nothing specific, just random. Ideas to get to sleep that don't involve medications/injury?

Your not the only one. when school is around it takes me 1-2 sometimes 3 hours to go to sleep. I just have soooooooo much processing in my mind. SOmething that puts me out in about 5 min is.
    1) working out right before bed
    2) reading a book.

Edit: these are two things i never do, so each one is VERy effective.

Hmm...I like that idea, it is probably not good to be playing a game and then going to bed...

Well i think about alot of stuff too, From studying goals, too a lot stuff that men think about every 20 seconds or so. i guess its normal has anything occurred in the recent passed thats troubling you?

have you tried counting back from 1000 or so AND keep your mind focus on one thing? such as a candle light burning out or something like that. I read something about that in psych.

lol just be glad your not me..

    ive been diagnosed with

Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by an inability to sleep and/or inability to remain asleep for a reasonable period. Insomniacs typically complain of being unable to close their eyes or "rest their mind" for more than a few minutes at a time. Both organic and nonorganic insomnia constitute a sleep disorder.[1][2] It can be caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression, or bipolar disorder and sometimes occurs for no apparent reason. An overactive mind or physical pain may also be causes.
    and

Sleep apnea, sleep apnoea or sleep apnœa is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep. These episodes, called apneas (literally, "without breath"), each last long enough so one or more breaths are missed, and occur repeatedly throughout sleep. The standard definition of any apneic event includes a minimum 10 second interval between breaths, with either a neurological arousal (3-second or greater shift in EEG frequency, measured at C3, C4, O1, or O2), or a blood oxygen desaturation of 3-4 percent or greater, or both arousal and desaturation.
.... so when I do finally fall asleep (which is only if im absolutely so tired I cant do anything else) i rarely sleep more than a hour or 2 before getting woken up because i stop breathing and or some other problem wakes me up. I useually wake up 5-6 times within a 8 hour period.. and im useually soo tired when i wake up i feel like i barely got any sleep at all, if im lucky i feel somewhat refreshed.

so be happy you cant sleep

I would try to take a tylenol and see if that helps..

Dunno if he would consider that *medication*. Just do what I do, watch a horror film. Dont know how it works for me, but normally it takes me 45 minutes to fall aslep and the other day I watched Stay Alive. Was asleep in under 10 minutes. Probably because I was laughing so hard cause its one of the stupidest movies Ive seen (total rip off of the ring, woman gets murdered and comes back in the form of a game to kill those who play it).

Sorry, I can't watch horror films, lol I can't even play FEAR...

I don't see that as medication. What I would classify that as is anything not "over the counter" and something that is non-addictive.
