    Bourne Ultimatum

Haven't seen a thread made about this insane movie yet, so I decided enough was enough. I went to see the first showing on friday and I will gladly admit that it was the best movie I have seen so far this year.

Saw it last night. What a great ending to the trilogy. Great, great movie. Some of the best chase scenes I've ever seen.

I watched the first two movies before I went to see the 3rd one. I must admit I was confused for the first part of where it fit into the storyline. I didn't expect that much to happen between him in Russia and then Bourne in the US.

I really liked it. The ending was great and you still weren't sure what was going to happen.

I, too, liked the third movie.

However, I should say that the camerawork in the second and third (under the direction of Greengrass) is vastly inferior to the camera work of the first (directed by Doug Liman).

The third movie seems to have had a camera man affected by Parkinson's. The martial arts action is just chaotic and confusing, and it's not anywhere as well done as in the first movie (simply compare fight scenes from the first and second -- you'll see a big difference). You don't need chaotic and shaking camera work for a good action scene -- simply look towards well choreographed martial arts movies: Hero, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and even The Matrix.

I don't enjoy this Hollywood trend of fast MTV cuts.

However, I did like the movie otherwise. Great on-the-edge-of-your-seat action

Yeah. I read reviews about it being 100% action, and they sure weren't lying. a perfect end to the trilogy IMO. they really do need to make more movies like this. matt damon makes tom cruise look like a newb.

Saw this at the drive in on Saturday along with The Simpsons.

I actually thought the movie was pretty crappy compared to the first 2. There weren't enough characters that I cared about. The story was thin, basically the whole evolution (and conclusion) of the storyline happens in the last 30mins.

Can someone tell me exactly what the "Ultimatum" was?? And can anyone explain to me how Bourne managed to bunny-hop a dirt bike up a 5 foot wall?

And the ending? The whole time, I was like "COME ON, MOVE ALREADY....YOU KNOW YOU AREN'T DEAD....WE AREN'T THAT STUPID". Good thing I was in my own car with 1 friend, she didn't mind me yelling at all.

My friend and I agree with you here. The 1st movie had excellent martial arts scenes that were sharp and precise and although the 2nd and 3rd movies had the same type of action, the camera shots made it messy and blurred. I also don't like the shaky cam stuff. It is well suited for the car chase scenes, but that is all imho!

Man I am dieing to see this movie. I read the trilogy and it was fantastic. Saw the 1st 2 movies and they really brought spy movies back to basics *Thank You Bourne*. In fact the Bourne movies are why 007 departed from the schmaltzy, gadget weaving Brosnan style to what it is in Casino Royale.

I'd have to admit that I like the stories in the books more than the films, but I understand why they changed it for the films. The books are very cold war centric and today's younger audiences can't relate to the cold war. But all in all I am very jealous that I did not have the chance to see it this weekend and all of you did :P

    It's a movie, bro.

Damon went to the same training camp as Willis. Cept' Willis was taught how to take on fighter jets with trucks.

Yes, I would completely agree with your assessment. Loved the movie's writing, acting, plot and story arc. Would have paid twice the ticket price to see it, if Greengrass had just popped for a steady-cam.

I would rate the first movie slightly higher than the other two, simply because of the choice in cinematography styles. (And I liked the car chase in the first the best).

It would have been interesting if they went back to Doug as the director for the third. I wonder how different it would have looked.

Still, awesome movie. Will be seeing it again in the theaters.

    Oh I know.

But up until then, I was totally into the movie. When I saw that, it took me out of the movie. I just think there are about 100 other ways he could have gotten away that would have been more believable. I literally LOL'd at that moment, and this is no comedy.

He ended with the Ultimatum and did not write anymore. After his death others decided to cash in on the success.
