I've got the Corsair 620W modular PSU and it comes with 2 SATA power cables with 2 inline connections. Is it safe to plug the cable into the PSU and then from there into 1 SATA HDD and 1 SATA DVD Writer? I mainly ask because I'm trying to cut down on the cluttered cables. Or is this 2 in 1 cable mainly used for 2 optical drives?

...are you asking if you can use both of the SATA connectors that are on the same cable? If yes...of course :)beer:) that is why there are there ;)

Even if they aren't the same type of device?
I don't see why that would be an issue ;)

But to be honest, no, there is nothing wrong with doing that. Not like the power supply can tell the difference
