Hi all,

I just built a new machine, and I'm using the intel matrix raid with a raid 0 array and a raid 1 array on the same two disks. I wanted to speed up my boot times, so I ran bootvis. It warned me that write caching is not enabled. I went into the device manager to check, and sure enough it's not. But, the checkbox to enable it is greyed out. Any idea what gives?

(by the way, my hdtach results are fine, with sustained transfer rates around 160 MB/sec for the raid 0 array. I just wonder if having write caching disabled is causing a slowdown during bootup.
