Nehalem in LGA775?

From what I understand there will be two versions one with and one without IMC. So if this is indeed true it would most definitely be the non-IMC chip.

and the $$$$ question would be... will they both perform the same?

Maybe there will be a way to disable the memory controller in the motherboard chipset? And the IMC in the Nehalem CPU will take over?

Technically, can the above be done with just a BIOS update?

I remember reading that there were two new sockets for Nehalem. The assumption at the time was that the lower pin count one was for a non-IMC version. If they can make that run on *current* LGA775 boards though  that would make 775 a really long-running platform. No idea about new VRM standards but since those boards can run 45nm Penryns there may not be a newer one for Nehalem.

Just a n00b here, but the P965 chipset was only designed to run processors with a max FSB of 1066, but now Asus has come out with a bios update for the P5B's that allows these Mobos to run 1333 processors. So disabling IMC in a chipset couldn't be possible?
