Hello ppl, I just got this laptop acer 5050, and I found out that the on the monitor tab is showing Generic PnP monitor instead of real driver, on the Adapter tab I can see that my VGa driver is right, just like i'm using a generic driver for display. =/ is that normal?? Does any have this laptop?

My only concern is that I can only choose between 59 and 60 Mhz for the refresh rate, I used to put at least 85 Mhz on my old CRT.

Thanks. Andre ;D

LCD's generally use 60MHz because the different technology does not require high refresh rates as did CRT's.

As for the driver, what graphics card does it have? I am assuming it's integrated? Check on the Acer website for updated drivers.

It is the ATI 1100. the last driver as per ACER site is the 8.33 for vista and 8.31 for xp.
