case modding, what to use for side panel?

well I am modding this case:

I am going to be cutting the side panel and putting a clear window in. What kind of material should I use for this clear window? Plexi? acrylic? I might rivet it down, but not sure if i'm gnna use tape. What would you guys suggest?

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT THICKNESS AND TOLERANCE??? What would be good for a computer case???

Has anyone done any case modding that would know the answer? I know to use plexi, but not sure on the thickness. Well I'll look around more.

1/8 is what i would asume go to the moding section and ask them all of them would know it is down just a little but
