    Would you have yourself cloned?

I thought about making a poll on the matter, however, after seeing the response to my earlier threads, I decided that I don't even know what options to put in the poll. Perhaps later on we can think about a poll.

Anyway, I can see both good and bad coming from human cloning. Should cloning be limited to therapeutic use such as the production of stem cells? Or should we allow full reproductive cloning of humans?

Assuming "movie" cloning... as in a fully grown equal version of me being cloned?

    Heck no

As for making a baby version of me..

    I have 3 kids

    so no

Oh as for the stemcell discussion... I do not know, I am not informed enough to make a decison. Gut instinct though says no, I have no problem with curing disease. But as we have progressed, disease has become more rampant. Our medicine has allowed people that would have normally died to breed and disrupt evolution. Perhaps the only choice is to go further.. .but that is something that would require a lot more thought I think.

I would be for cloning of stem cells or specific organs in case of issues with my own. I see no reason for full cloning though...

I need someone else to do the house chores halfarsed while I game!

And a substitute for halfarsed work too!

I was an identical twin once (she passed away) so at one point I did have a clone. I think it'd be cool for organ and other medical purposes. Otherwise, I think it'd be creepy and I already drive the husband crazy as it is... imagine two? LOL

I don't see why one wouldn't be able to do it if they wanted. I personally would have no use for a clone of me. Sure it could maybe help me out but it would need the same upkeep as me such as food, sleep, education, etc so it may be more trouble than it is worth. For those who feel that they want a clone, i am not going to stop them.

Cloning for organs and to cure diseases like parkinson's and alzheimer's is great though. I think would should expedite that type of cloning.

How about you keep your religious propaganda out of this thread, and the rest of the forums.

A little blunt in saying it...

I do agree, only to keep this thread open though.

I do think that person's answer was legitimate? S/He did express his/her view and did not get into specifics and did not shower his/her answer with religious propaganda. Sheesh.

He could have said it was against my beliefs or a simple no. I am sorry if I was blunt, but this forum is my safe zone from that kind of rhetoric.

It wouldn't be a discussion if he just said no and there's nothing wrong with what he said. We don't know what his religious or political beliefs are, you're just assuming. I don't see this person pushing anything and I'm usually the first that gets irritated when people push this sort of propaganda. You can't expect to be catered to your sensibilities all the time, you know, even in these forums.

Hell no! All I need is another one of me running around trying to C*** Block me every time I try and talk to some girl at the bar. Yeah that sounds great...

Although I could use some spare parts so maybe for that. (I'm thinking after the way this month has been going, I might need a new liver soon?) My big plan is I want my head frozen OR my memory downloaded into a PC, whichever technology happens first.
