Today my inspiron 8600 decided it needed to go into super low power mode when I plug it into the wall. It say it no longer recognizes my cable. But it charges just fine. Is there any way to override the stupid clock throttling of the cpu? It went from 1500 MHz down to 239 MHz. Ugh.

go into the power saving features of the laptop and you should be set...

it is there once you get to windows in the tray

Yeah I already looked at that. I read a few posts on the dell forms. AC converter is probably on the fritz. Of course dell charges $65+shipping for a new one. Looks like I'll be shopping for a new laptop. I can't really justify putting $80 into this old thing.
