LoL, those guys really know what they are talking about. Yet another reminder that fools speak because they have to say something, not because they have something to say.
Apple tried to create their own system for years, but finally gave up recently and moved to Intel and Microsoft
And thats the way it is :D

I would love to see the original threads those statements were taken from. This is what happens when you just assume how things work rather than actually reading about it or using it and paying attention.

A guy at work (he no longer works there, surprise surprise) was going to replace a server because he could not type on the keyboard (which is part of a KVM) he did not try even checking or replacing the cables first but he did run a re-image disk (ghost image) on the server. His reasoning was the keyboard "driver" was not installed and still was not "installed" after the re-image. After talking with him I found out he was looking in the Windows device manager and there was no keyboard listed. The problem was the keyboard was dead.

Unbelievable that anyone could be that stupid, yet profess to know so much. Really appalling. I would love to find someone like that to actually argue with.

Just...WOW...don't ever walk up to me and say that...

I must say....I'm racist against stupid people....>.>

I wouldn't call that racist, you are more like me... people are stupid until proven intelligent. More like prejudice. NOT to say I don't make mistakes (average one a year :)).

Edit: or I guess if you think they are their own race!
Well, I was implying a joke there :D

I don't start thinking people being stupid without proof...I don't rate before I speak with them. Once they open their mouth...then I start ;)

I tend to assume everyone is a moron until proven otherwise.

Funny.... Vista is the future!?!?!?!?????

By browsing and reading this thread in the Alternative Operating Systems section, most who post here already in a "more intelligent" group I would say.

Not because microsoft is "dumb", but because most people don't even know they have a choice... Sheeple

Yea, I'm going to delete my previous post and I do the same as you just said, rate people before I lay into them :) (although now I guess it doesn't matter). I still believe what I said, but it's late and I don't want to offend anyone with my banter.

That link goes to show that we don't even know the battle we are fighting.

We are thinking that people don't use Linux because they are afraid of the command line or can't run their games, when in fact many do not use Linux because they don't understand that it's an operating system that can take the place of Windows... Lol.

Was it Freecableguy at XS forums who said "The idiots outnumber us 10000:1", so in that respect Linux has already lost the battle for end users. However, thinking back on servers 8-10 years ago i didnt expect Linux to win the server war so easily so there is hope also for the desktop. That is, if there is a battle at all, i dont like to think of it that way, support for Linux is already more than good enough for me, what other people use for their OS isnt important to me.

My brother is a "below average" computer user and used to refer to the Linux commandline as "the Bios", after 9-10 years on Windows he is now a very happy Linux user. He just didnt know about the alternative, he knew i was using only Linux but he considered me a professional user so he didnt think it was something for him. Once he tried it it took less than 20 minutes before he came back and said he was finished with Windows for good. For him, and many others, Windows cant even be used to surf porn sites without getting infected with adware and viruses, so it seems like Linux is for the simple users and Windows for the very experienced. It takes skills and years of experience to keep Windows virus free, its damn hard to maintain stability and performance, simple users just need to see that all the day to day computer problems they have is windows related, and not computer related.
