Anyone tried dialling an 800 number from outside that country?

I'd like to see if it works...

Nope, still need international long distance (this is why quite a few people have trouble with support - the support number is a US 800 number and thus discourages international support)

Just use Skype. I am overseas and dial 800 numbers back to the states all the time for free.

Otherwise, if I were to pick up my house or cell phone I would be charged an international charge to the US, regardless if its 800 or not.

Some US 800 .numbers can be/are set up to provide international toll free, however the way you purchase it is blocked off by region (I.E. Make my number toll free to the UK) so it's not terribly cost-effective.

    I'd go with Skype

Your joking!? I can just download this skype, buy a headset, and dial from (here's where I'm skeptical) Australia to U.S 800 numbers, for free??? What about this skype to landlines, domestic cell phones, how much does that cost (haven't actually seen a call charge chart anywhere)?

But it's a good question about what you should do when you're overseas...
