Will my gateway laptop mx 6446 support 4 gigs ram

It says it will support 2 gigs max. I am running 32 bit but i also am on my deaktop with 32 bit and it was a big boost over 2. i know it will not recognize all 4 gigs, desktop recognizes 3.5 gigs. Some say the have done this and was a major improvement. thanks

so why not go with 3GBs. It will still be dual channel. 4GB's is a bit waste in a notebook even for vista unless you run many vmware sessions.

Thought about what you said, why not 3 and ordered a 2 Gig Kingston stick. It recognized it and runs great
