how would HD4870 Xfire be on P35

im going to be buying either a HD4870, a pair of them, or a HD4870x2 and was wondering how big of an effect the fact that the 2nd PCIe slot runs at 4x would have on my FPS under XFIRE

That would scale horribly... PCIe 4x ~= AGPp 4x

Definitely don't go with two cards on that kind of setup. Get a single 4870. Since your PCIe slot isn't 2.0 the 4870x2 isn't a good option either.

That wouldn't work well. My 3850s were even held back by my P35!

I was thinking of doing a Xfire set up as well MAYBE but from what I gather here that is no good with my set up. I am pretty keen on some of these new cards that are coming out at the moment. What would be the best options for my set up? At perhaps a mid range price or if there is a real benefit something more top end. Thanks
