Has anyone not had a set of balistix die on them or am i the only one!?!?!?!

I'm running four sticks right now in this rig and haven't had any issues. None of my Crucial RAM in previous systems has died, either.

i tend to tell people to avoid micron high speed D9's, so i suggest these kits.

first kit i have seen on XS hit DDR2-1100 with 2.2v, now they dont use Micron IC's. the ram list i use for reference is down. if i recall right the 2gig uses Powerchip IC's as well as the 4gig kit. as a point of reference DDR2-800 cas4 = DDR2-1000 cas5 in bandwidth, just food for thought. just in case your wondering why these 2 links should answer that for you.

Neither of my dual-sided 8500 kits ever died on me, and so far my single-sided 6400 Tracers are holding up pretty well.

And one of his 8500 kits hasnt died on me.. running 550Mhz (1100) at 5-5-5-18 2.2v atm.. i havent played with timings much yet.. have had them boot into windows at 600mhz at 2.2v but did get errors on prime..

I've never had Balistix DDR2 but otherwise I've never had a failure.

Right now I'm using KVR and it's working great. I can do DDRII 1000 on it if I want but the dividers don't really work out to my liking with this board.

If a set died, and then the replacements died in 3 days, you may want to look into why this has happened. I've never had a set of ram die on me...ever. Regardless of brand, voltage, overclock, etc. I've had probably 30 sets of ram to this date, so, I don't really know if switching brands is the right answer here.

That said, I like OCZ and Crucial. I see no reason to go with other brands, but that's just me and I guess you can call me a fanboy for that :) Any of the companies mentioned are top notch in service and quality, so you really can't go wrong these days. D9 will be impossible to find, unfortunately. Might have to shell out some money for the PC2-9600 if you really want D9.

Yeah but D9NHL if you get stuck with single side modules which dont OC so well.Only really decent D9's come on the double side modules

I don't think you understand...
Crucial is a daughter company of Micron created to sell Micron semiconductor products.

You realize that Crucial IS D9?

Are you talking to me? Did you see my rank? lol

What I was saying is that D9GMH is no longer made, so it is very hard to come buy when purchasing NEW sticks. DDR2-1200 is usually made from old stock of it and therefore is a pretty safe bet. Other modules don't have it.

Sorry if that's not what you were talking about.

ok but Giga, you do know that D9HNL's are higher density IC then D9GMH right? i have a set of 2x1gig kit, rated for ddr2-667. they are able to hit ddr2-900 with a mear 1.9v at cas5.

at the time they were what we considered cheap. about what 3-4months ago, for the price the oced really well. there are more choices then just micron for ocing ram. i wish people would realize that. no longer do you need to go with micron ic's to get clocking ram...
this here is with older Promos based ram... for the time and i still think they may hold the record for highest clocked Promos ram to date.

that was done on my old Abit AB9-Pro board..
