Hmmm, perhaps I'll give it some more time in Prime95. Maybe it needs a break in period or something lol

I can't understand this board :shakes: It's constantly running my Q9550 quite a bit hotter then my TPower I45 did. On this board, at stock clocks (2.83GHz) I'm hitting 48c. I know on the TPower I had the CPU GTL ref at .63x, and on this board it defaults at .76x. Could that be the difference? I've reapplied thermalpaste and reseated my TRUE several times.

I mean it's the same thing, .63x of 1.2v VTT is 0.76v ... the gigabyte mobo just lets you set it directly without dealing with ratios. 0.63(1.2v) = 0.76v

Ah OK. If I can't get this thing figured out soon, I'm just gonna pwn it off and use a special i7.

I usually loath gigacrap mobos, grabbed the ud3p out of desperation at a local microcenter after my x48 died. thing is awesome lol, went up to 538 now test it over night, here 525

1.22 vtt and 1.26 NB,

tried all the way up to 550 with same volts, neeeds work still, fun little mobo tho.

Alright I can get into Windows with my Q9550 @ 4250MHz (8.5x500) no problem, however its only P95 stable for about a minute. It doesn't hardlock or reboot, it ether closes the P95 app automatictly or just says the threads failed. Here are my settings. Any obvious settings I should change other than vcore? For the GTL refs I multiplied CPU VTT and MCH voltage by .63 each.

Hey guys... great thread! I just picked up this board recently and have been playing with different memory since. Wasn't having too much luck clocking the memory I tried (Corsair C4 v2.1 & G.Skill 1000s) but then I found a set of older Ballistix 800 in a Folding rig, and it appears to be some flavor of D9. I almost had it to DDR1200 (using a Q9550)... I'm mainly a Folder, not an extreme OC'er... so that's something to say for me. :D

Any recommendations on the best BIOS version? The board came with F5 and that's what I've stuck with so far.

Edit: Oh ya, any recommendations on a 2x2GB 1066 Kit for this board? I'm browsing the Egg as I type. :D

I've had best luck with F6d.

Got a link? All I've been able to find is the F7b.

I heard that there will be a new revision for this board... like v1.1 and it will address all of the high voltages needed on the vmch, pll and vtt for quads @ 500 fsb.

Anyone else hear this?

mine was bought as an emergency backup, my x48 blew up and killed my 4870's lmao

was friday after christmas. I checked loacal microcenter stock all they had that was close was this giga. Drove out 45 minutes brought it home. Starting reading about it on here and XS. Started clocking it and it is the best clocking mobo I have ever had hands down. It does 550 at less volts then my best ones did 500 at.... ohh and I hated the p5q deluxe asus mobo :p
