Last christmas I bought my gf an...

Inspiron 1520:
C2D T5500 1.6Ghz 2MB L2.
2GB DDR2 667
120GB SATA HDD 5400 rpm
NVIDIA 8400m gs
8x +/- DVD writer
nothing to speciaal. I think it ran me about $700 at the time.

So for the last few months we had some problems with it, over heating "so hot ou can feel it through the keyboard. And also random shocks haha...

I called them since we had the complete care warranty for one year which we used like 5 times already.

They said no problem sent us out a shiny new...

Inspiron 1535 (Studio 15)
T5800
2gb ddr2 667
250gb sata 7200 rpm
radeon mobility hd3450(256mb - 1024mb)
fingerprint reader.

So I am happy what my extra $100 got us :)

Not to mention that I have some ddr2 800 (3GB) and an extra P8400. I will toss them into this studio 15 and it will fly :).

Very happy with it, it even has hdmi. Kind of like early Christmas.

btw studio 15 is MUCH lighter than the 1520, and thinner.

The Studio laptops are a lot nicer than the 1520/1525 inspirons. They feel at least one notch above in terms of quality IMO.

Yea they are slick. They are much more like the XPS notebooks. Awesome deal for you getting the new computer! I always get the extra warranties. They always seem to be good investments in the long run.

Strange, tHE P8400 works, "in another system", but I put it in the studio 15 and it wont boot, both socket p, latest bios, but wont work. Some even ship with the P8400. Any ideas?

should i swap out the new t3200 for the old t5500 ?

I ran super pi on both and the t3200 ran 1mb/2mb in 41.324s / 1.39.762, and the t5500 ran it in 34.266s / 1.22.187.
