All these builds make mine look so basic, goal=success  Was going for a similar build to my old compaq with a Pentium 3.

Yes, that GPU is practically wall to wall, it's a very tight fit. :p

Any feedback is appreciated, and my apologies for the enormous post....

That post is worthy of its own thread!!

Fantastic build and attention to detail Rck010, I still love builds in the Air 540 even after doing my own.

Thanks for all the feedback so far guys, really appreciated!

The photos are actually taken with just a Samsung Galaxy S6 mobile phone. You don't need an expensive setup to make acceptable photos :)

Hi there, my first post here. Just completed putting together my i7 system, and I'm a big fan of the Thermaltake Riing RGB fans, so I combined the 12 and 14 versions, and layered the lighting using NZXT's Hue+ LED strips. Am constantly fooling around with the lighting settings to try different looks - what I love about my PC components is that each of them have very customizable color LED settings, so you are not stuck with one color scheme.

Config:

  • Fractal Design R5 case
  • Intel i7 6700
  • 32GB Gskill Ripjaws RAM
  • Asus STRIX 1070
  • Asus Z170 Pro Gaming With Aura
  • Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 512GB
  • Western Digital Black 4TB
  • Thermaltake Toughpower 650W
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED with Thermaltake Riing 12
  • Thermaltake Riing 14 for rear fan
  • NZXT Hue+ LED system

Did some decent cable management, 32" 1440p monitor for 150 quids and like new Driving force for 40.

Just need an up to date GPU, even if the 7970 is still doing OK@1440p...

Might get a 1080 for Black Friday, if UK online shop have some good deal, or will have to wait til January. IMG_20161012_080127.jpg
