Ack! You found me out! :D

If you want to "graduate" colors, you can't just use the standard colors in the editor that you can pick out - the browser is set up for thousands of colors, but you have to learn the code, and the basics for what numbers, make what color. Once you get the basics down, then it goes a lot quicker.

And here is where I learned the basics, and keep some important colors, too.

I wrote a program to generate all the colors, (some output from that program is in post #7 in this thread), but I found out that on-screen, I couldn't differentiate between colors that had adjacent (hexadecima)l values.

So the effective color number is much less than 16.7 Million. I'm not sure if that's a limitation of the human eye/brain, or one from the forum software, or one from the video display card or indeed, from the choices in the OS -- or any combination of the above! :D

What: Annual Chimp Challenge Folding@Home Race

When: Saturday, April 13th, Noon to Tuesday, April 23rd, Noon (Pacific Daylight Time).

We are the 2012 Chimp Challenge Race Champions, and we'd love to repeat that win!

Like last year, the USS Poo Flinger, will be sailing 'round to make sure those teams who help us out, lose NOTHING - always gaining in points, immediately after the race.

And it's great fun!

All the info is here:
http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=729919

With the newer version 7 FAH Client, it's as easy to set up as BOINC, in Windows, Mac's (OSX), or Linux.

Race starts on the 13th at Noon, Pacific Daylight Time (-7 UTC)

Want to race with us? We'd love to have you join us!

Go here, and download the program that folds, using your computers spare cycles:

Stanford University, Folding@Home website:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/HomePage

The website will help you pick out the right version, for your system. Highly recommended: the FAHControl v7.3 or above.

Pick out a unique folding handle for yourself, and test it here:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-main#ntoc31

You will want a unique folding handle!

And by all means, get a passkey while you're "nearby":

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

You'll receive no spam from it - it helps F@Home with the bookkeeping of the work units AND it gives your account AND your team, a *LOT* more points after several days of folding.

We ARE the 2012 Chimp Challenge Champions - but this is a handicap race, and that means it will be tough to repeat that victory - but we are going to do it, or melt Stanford Folding@Home servers, trying!!

We love our Lucky Monkey images!
