I'm considering buying a set of fans from them seeing as they seem to have a good deal
http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1cafa.html

however I've never bought from or even heard of them until recently (I usually stick to newegg/zipzoomfly)

Their website seemed kind of simple and lack luster but i know that doesn't necccarily mean anything, so I decided to check their reseller rating (http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Petra_s_Tech_Shop_ShopPTS) but with only 93 reviews in the past 6 months, I'm not entirely convinced of that 10/10.

and so I ask you good people of OCF, of those of you who have made purchases from this vendor, your thoughts?

petras is the ONLY place i will buy yate loons as they are the ONLY place that deals with yate loon direct... and thus legit yate loons... they have awesome service and are crazy fast at gettin back to ya.

pertas service is A++

I made my first purchase from them recently (last week or two). Shipping was fast, the packaging was done right and everything arrived safe.

I got a hand written thank you letter for my purchase. Hard to beat that!

So... one purchase a good history does not make, but it is a fantastic start!

I'm sure others will give quite a few thumbs up for PTS

I buy all my fans from jab-tech.

Edit: Petras is a very reliable seller, but as far as price, jab-tech is better and just as reliable.

when you realize that you get cheap yates from jabtech ull start spending the lil extra to buy legit yates...

Check out my comparison of jt low speeds vs petras low speeds.... jt's have a cheap small motor thats ment for an 80mm sized fan vs the legit 120mm fan sized motor in the petras.

Thanks for all the replies, you guys have sold me on petras, will be placing my order later tonight!!!

Yup Petra's is definitely worth it. Can't remember another company I ordered from and got handwritten notes thanking me for my service.

My cable box's DVR extra 500GB BlacX needed a new fan last week, so I picked this <15dBA fan from Petra's for like $2

A dab of silicone on the 4 corners and the BlacX is back to dead silent again. :D

Just like Jab-Tech, Petra's is on the top of my prefered vendor list.

Same here. I can't think of any other e-vendors that have given me a handwritten thank you note in the package.

Why didnt you include any kind of numbers as far as CFM and db?

Because I'm guessing measure CFM isn't cheap.

Also measure DB is very very vvery hard to do it accurately, also all the companies measure dB differently (from 2ft, 10ft etc)

Its just diffucult to measure CFM not expensive. As for db, if both fans sound the same at the same distance, then it hardly matters if one is less quality. Cheaper price beats out higher price if the db is the same.

I have been very happy with all yates I have gotten from jab-tech, and at over a dollar cheaper, its fine for me.
