hi there - first post in these forums tho i've been reading them for ages.

anyways, when running windows 2000 i keep getting a recurring system file corruption which forces me to use the repair console to sort out the problem before being able to boot into windows again (and this is very annoying as it takes a while and messes up my system a bit etc..). i have reformatted and reinstalled several times (at default settings) but still the problem occurs. how can i prevent this from happening in the future? one person has suggested to me that this can be caused by a fast shutdown problem but i don't know if there is a fix for this. what else could it be? i have also heard this can happen in xp which is worrying as i've recently ordered a copy!!!

my basic system specs:
XP 1600+
Epox 8KHA+
256MB DDR2100 (Hynix!!!)
40GB Maxtor
GF3 ti200 asus v8200
350W no name power supply

cheers for any help,

SamJ
