I have three 1gb sticks of Corsair XMS2 memory that are all the same. Would it be better to run two in dual channel are install all three? Thanks in advance.

Pentium 4 540J
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3l

Well, depends on what you're planning to do with the system. The P4 is pretty starved for memory bandwidth, so for most purposes you'd be better off with dual channel. If you're planning on clogging it up with Vista, though, you might be better off with the extra gig.

Alternately, XMS2 is still available, and it's pretty cheap... maybe consider getting another stick and run 4GB in dual channel?

Thanks for the info.

I am currently running the 540J at 3.6g and the two sticks of memory at 900mhz (450 in cpu-z) in dual channel.
