Ghetto Air Cooled Accelero S1 Rev. 2 (1600x1200 res warning)

My roommate's brand new S1 was idling his 8800GT@65 , so he decided the passive setup wasn't going to cut the mustard. Title pretty much says it all...



The setup is composed of:
- 1" glass penguin figurine
- 2 AA batteries
- wire
- lots of tape
- dismantled mini-desk fan

After the addition temps dropped from 65@idle to about 45. Pretty impressive I thought!

Anyone have similar lack of performance from the S1, or with this particular card? Anybody added anything similar?

Thats pretty ghetto alright. Likely a 92mm or 120mm fan and a couple zipties would yield better results without the hassle of having to change batteries.

Wait, so you used the cpu cooler as place to stand a fan that is blowing on the gpu cooler? Haha good stuff.
