What I basically have is a HTPC under my TV that is my PVR / plays media from another computer on the network. Everything is wired at gigabit speeds.
I am using Media Center on the HTPD to play my DVD collection that is stored on my Fiancee’s computer. Files are seem from Media Center over a windows share. However I have a MAJOR video stutter problem.

Some details of my setup before we continue

Network:
Netgear GS108T Gigabit switch
pfSense (FreeBSD) firewall

Computers:

HTPC:
Windows 7 RC 64bit
Core 2 @ 2.53GHz (stock)
Asus P5Q-EM (G45 Chipset)
4GB 6400 DDR2 (2x2GB)
4830 (sound over HDMI via 4830)
WD Caviar Black 1 TB
Hauppauge 2250 Tuner w/MCE remote
Antec Fusion Case w/ Imon IR receiver
Logitech diNova Mini (BlueTooth)
Realtek on-board gigabit NIC

Fiancée’s:
Windows Vista 64
Core 2 @ 2.4GHz (stock)
4GB RAM
On-Board Gigabit NIC

Mine:
Windows Vista 64
Core i7…

Now a little history and the problem

I had the RC working just fine but this weekend my (old over 5 year?) 400GB drive died. So picking up a new drive and with a reinstall of Windows 7 my video is not working right.

-live TV works perfect
-Not a codec issue as I can watch local files perfect
-Fiancée’s computer can host the files to my Core i7 just fine
-All media player have the issue, not just media center
-Increasing the buffer in Media Center only delays the issue

Watching network utilization while watching a movie I can see my network stall.
You can see the graph doing its thing, then all of a sudden network utilization drops to ZERO. I still have a connection and the network card has not lost connection.
Just for some reason it will not transfer any more data from the computer hosting the video.

-I have tried Jumbo Frames on and off, my Network normally runs with them on at 4K
-I have disabled any power saving feature.
-Tried the current Realtek drivers for Windows 7.

For the life of me I can not figure out why it will not sustain a data stream.
I can copy a video from the other computer without stalls.
My network is not being over taxed
It worked before....
Any Ideas???

Is QOS enabled in Windows Networking?

That's usually one of the first things I disable in Network properties. It could be reserving bandwidth and causing your stuttering.

I note that with it enabled, my friend always ran a bit slower than me in our online games like Everquest 2. (the old Jboots quest was a PITA until we disabled QOS)

QOS doesn't make a difference
Also i have turned the windows Firewall off with no luck

Any ideas?
Anyone?

I really hope i dont need a fresh install because of this.
