I am not so in tune with the Building of Desktops anymore,
I am looking at DDR3 packages and am wondering Why DDR3 is being bundles in 3 packs,

does DDR3 work better in triplet as DDR2 does in pairs?

x58 boards have tripple channel memory so certain memory kits contain 3 sticks to sell to i7 owners. However i5 and AM3 are still only dual channel so two stick sets are still sold

Only x58 boards and core i7 9xx series use triple channel DDR3.
Everything else uses dual channel.
