My previous 9600GSO was an EVGA, but it had 384mb of ram, obviously based on the 8800GS which had 384/768.

This one has 512MB. Other 9600GSO's with 512MB had DDR2 and crappy performance, but this one has 512MB of GDDR3, just like the 9600GSO with 384.

The reviews are high, but people on Newegg aren't as knowledgeable. Anyway, I'm confused about the specs and want to pull the trigger to replace my dead card.

hey esse that is a steal i saw it last night on NEG i would buy it if i had the money, I had a 9600gso for a few months and i didnt have any problems with any games. Movies looked good also... If you have it grab it the price will probably flew back to like 69 or 79 on monday.

hmm may pick this up for a dedicated PhysX card and/or use to run a dedicated desktop screen while gaming :)

This is second version of 9600 GSO - it has 64 shaders and 512mb 128-bit memory (so worse than previous card). Normal GSO has 96 shaders and 384/768mb 192-bit :burn:
