Maximum wireless output power

What is the maximum wireless output power allowed by the FCC in the US? I am specifically wondering about IEEE 802.15, but I'm guessing it would be the same as 802.11

It all depends on the transmitter output power configuration and antenna gain.

Plus you can only use antennas that are type certified with your particular wifi radio. here is a nice chart showing the correlation between tx power and antenna gain.

lol This is somthing interesting I didnt think of. This is what Im running my router at lol.
I think it would have to me a lot more than this before they come knocking at my door though.

I have mine @ 100 didnt know how much extra heat it would make if I jacked it any more .
Turbohans how long have you been running it like that?

I run mine at 251, and it's been running just fine for several months. (like 7 lol)

Helps a lot with dl, but ul still sucks from my Netbook :/

Yeaaaaa, my WRT54GL has an 18db/m antenna,, I think I may turn it down a little if that link is correct.
