^ for sure! i do it alot! even after i find some answers on google i will make a post here, often for some form of re-assurance, or just to talk to someone who has actually done it and can pass on real experience!

Been there, seen that...gone through all the guides that don't require a FDD...I'm not sure why icebob's version of HP's tool is so hard to find, the newer version doesn't work half as well

icebob's answer was the one I was looking for, and anybody else who stumbles upon this thread should refer to his link...IT IS THE ANSWER

I know this isn't the guide you need, but it shows how to use HP Format Tool. I followed this guide for my GPU, and it worked perfectly. Hope this helps.
