if something went wrong with the CPU, it can hit 95c pretty quickly .. how fast would it vaporize?

95C on an i7 CPU the computer is only 5C from thermal shutdown, and is well past the 74C recommended maximum temperature.

I know some GPUs can run stable @ 100C.

Either way, with the massive cooling on tap for the computer even extremely OC'd, the FC-770 won't vaporize fast enough to cause an overpressure before it cools and condenses back into a liquid.
 
74*c isn't the recommended max.
That's the highest the CPU will get with the stock fan on stock settings with stock volts given 30 (40?)*c intake air. It is for designing cases and cooling solutions, it is not a recommended temp.
 
My bad.

The point I was trying to make was that TJmax is 100C. With only 5C between vapor point and throttling/thermal shutdown, I think it's fairly safe.
