8x PCI-E vs 16x PCI-E (2.0) Question

Well, my current mobo in my sig is giving me some flakes (glitches out when i try to f12 into boot selection) (everytime after i down clock any OC settings i have to clear CMOS). So i bought a new ASUS mobo 890GX and some DDR3 mem. The only thing is the mobo runs the top slot @ 8x and the bottom slot at 16x. I have a bottom mounted PSU, so that'll make the GPU run a little hot in that lower slot. With my card being a maintstream model of a 5770, will i notice much of a difference between the 8x and the 16x slot?

Nope, with a 5870 there is a 1-2% difference. With a 5770 there is probably none at all, or really really tiny.

PCIX 16 = 100% bandwidth
x8 = 96-98% bandwidth
x4 = 65 - 75% bandwidth
