I'm wanting to add an addition to my PC (see my sig) and am wondering if an additional GTX 470 in SLI is the next step...?

Or does anyone else have any better suggestions?

Is there any thing you can't play on your current system ? Looks pretty kick ***
What rez is your monitor ?

OC to 3.8+ if your gonna grab another, I need 2 cards even at 1920x1200 even a 5870 or 480 wont give me the fps I prefer.

If you got the money and you game alot it's worth it.

My monitor is 22".

I'm thinking SLI with another 470...Overkill? Big time

go for SLI then do surround vision, 1680x1050 x 3 then SLI wont be an overkill :D

Another question:

Let's say a second GTX 470 was a little too pricey for me right now, would going SLI with a GTX 460 offer any performance benefits?

I see the GTX 460's a very affordable.

I would save your money. Just be happy with one of the most powerful cards available to the public sector :p

When prices fall then you should think about buying another 470 but until then it's not worth it.

I am not sure that hybrid SLI works but if it does you only get double youtr least card. i.e. GTX465 x 2. I just bougt two GTX 470's myself. Right now I have a resolution mismatch with one 1680x1050 lcd and another 1920x1080 lcd. I'll probably add another1680x1050 and trade out my 1920x1080 for a 1680x1050 to get Nvidia surrond.

Not sure about hybrid SLI, but SLI 465s beats a single 480 quite handily. Now SLI 470s handily beats 465s and of coursefor ultimate overkill, get SLI 480s and ill be glad to take that 470 off your hands :D
