ME limit to HD capacity

My father recently had a problem with his system not recognizing all the space on his new 160G HD. This is FYI for anyone who may be interested.

Well I finally figured out my new hard drive problem and thought it
might be of so use to you in the future. The new hard drive is a Maxtor
160 gb. When I originally installed it I partitioned it in to 4 40 gb
partitions. I had a lot of trouble with the last partition. What I
learned today is that the version of Windows ME that I have only
recognizes 137 total gb in any configuration of partitions. So the last
40 gb on the old setup wasn't recognizable.

Ya, that's one of the limitations of FAT32. All the more reason to migrate to Linux of XP. I don't know what the limit of NTFS is but it's biggly huge. :)
