if you mean desktop backgrounds, and the system is XP
i use this old thing http://www.wallpaperchanger.de/
can almost guarentee it wont work in 7 or vista.

i use that because it is One piece program, it is once and gone on boot, it would randmize.
i specifically turn off all other features of it.
this one also allowed for the possibility of NOT having that active desktop, AND still having Jpeg compressed pictures, because it converts to BMP right before it plunks it in place. for me it was the best of all worlds, without stuff i didnt want on even.

now if you mean different monitors, or onionskinning or something, then your going to have to describe your intended outcome better.

Ultramon is amazing, well worth the money. I love the seperate taskbars and maximize to other monitor buttons.
