Well a friend of mine wants to build a gaming computer for SC2 and maybe upcoming Diablo 3. His budget is 1,500. He's going with intel, he has keyboard, mouse, LCD screen, etc etc.

This is what I came up with.

Case:Azza Solano
CPU:i5 750
RAM: N/A
MOBO: N/A
PSU: N/A
GPU:HIS 5850
Dvd/Cd drive: LG Black
HDD:N/A
SSD: If there is spare $$, but still N/A.
HSF:Corsair H50

N/A = I don't know what to get:shrug:. Any help?:-/

They both run a bit warmer than most cards, but its not an issue...

I dont know how good the Frio is... may want to look that up...or just get a proven performer like Noctua Dh14, Prolimatech megahelems etc...

PSU is a solid choice as well.

Well I picked the Frio because he isn't going to be overclocking I hope and it seems to be a nice cooler for a stock i7. Just looked at this review

He can easily get something crazy for 1500 that plays SC2, diablo 3 and much more. For Those 2 games mentioned he probably only needs about a 800-1000 dollar budget.

If he isnt overclocking, why spend the money on anything???

He just wants to play games that's it. He's not into ocing.

He can easily get something crazy for 1500 that plays SC2, diablo 3 and much more. For Those 2 games mentioned he probably only needs about a 800-1000 dollar budget.

I tried talking him into amd so he can save some cash, but he has the cash and he wants that performance that intel has.

i7 930 + Gigabyte X58A-UD3R mobo- $460 Combo
3x2GB DDR3 1600 CAS7 1.5v ram - $155
OCZ Vertex 60GB (Boot and some apps drive) - $136
1TB Western Digital Caviar Black 64mb cache Sata3 - $87
XFX Radeon 5870 - $375
Corsair 750TX - $110

Total with your case/burner/NO AFTERMARKET COOLER: $1450

Slightly changed EarthDog's build. IMO, if you're not overclocking, you don't need an aftermarket cooler. Used that money to go with a 5870. I would have rather put a 480, but it was just a couple bucks over.

If SC2 favors NVIDIA, then go with his.
